    Description

Singer used this unusual diamond-shaped pull on sewing machine cabinet drawers from the late 1880s until about 1900.
It is in original condition and the metal has oxidized and discolored over its long life. We wiped it off but did not polish it to retain the aged patina.
The escutcheon (diamond-shaped plate) measures one-and-three-eighths inches on each side, and about two inches from top to bottom across the diagonal. In other words, with one point of the diamond pointing straight up and “SINGER” reading across from left to right above the ring.
It comes complete with its original attachment hardware (just to the right of center at the top of photo one) which is somewhat rare as the nut is often missing from these things. The ring is bent a little out of round (photos three, four, and five) but bending a ring back into shape that’s 120-30 years old probably isn’t a good idea, so we left it as we found it.
My husband and I have owned and restored over 1000 antique and vintage Singer sewing machines and know quite a bit about them, so please ask if you have questions! We are happy to help you.
