This is a
SPECTACULAR and RARE antique Viennese dollhouse vanity table, along with a matching vanity chair. The vanity table is a working music box. Both pieces are made of gold gilt bronze, with ornate detailing and incredible hand painted enamel scenes. The vanity table depicts lovers on a stroll with the gentleman in a red cloak and a lady in a pink gown. The table also features a pair of cherubs with cupids arrows and flowers. The chair depicts a young man playing the lute, and a young lady in a pink dress. It weighs in at over 1 pound, making it very heavy. It was purchased at a Paris auction in the 1990s. **Note: any additional miniature items in photos are used for scale and props only, and only the item being described above is included in this listing.
This wonderful little miniature was from a collection, 40 years in the making.  Every collection has a story and this one is well, just wonderfully special. I was surprised to see such a tiny home with so many minis, the story behind the person, is that she lived a grand life in a large home, she traveled the world in search for artisan miniatures and boy did she find them.  This collection is so vast, it features miniatures from artisans
Herbillon, Alan Barnes, John Hodgson, Targoni, Ligia, Wonnacott, Jim Irish, William Robertson, Cristina Noriega, Harry Smith, Ernie Levy, Robert Dawson, Keith Bougourd, Maritza Moran, Neil Batson, Susanne Russo, Acquisto, Renee Isabelle, Kupjack, O'meara, Obadiah Fisher, EM Silver, Marcia Backstrom, Wee Forest Folk, Henry Staring-Egberts, Tricia Street, Le Chateau, Ana Felipe, Christopher Whitford, Christine Dell'Anna, Paula Gilhooley, Almudena Gonzalez and more.  All of these artisans have been amazing to discover, but what was so 'wonderfully' special to me, was in the last years of her life, she sold her estate, moved to a small home and surrounded herself with all of the things that made her happy...her miniatures and  I know she would want each piece to find a wonderful new collection to reside within.  It will take a few weeks to do all the listings, I will have Buy It Now items as well.  Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
