Victorian bisque-headed angel ornament velvet pin cushion
Probably one-of-a-kind, this 5” X 7” German bisque china head sits atop a winged hemisphere-shaped Victorian maroon velvet pillow, tie-dyed to effect radiating lines (like radiant light).
It is stitched down 2 sides of the “gown” to create the wings – the whole pillow forming a unique pin cushion or ornament if so desired.
The outer edge is a fancy gold & maroon silky woven border trim, & her collar is a lovely double-layer of real tatted lace, firmly attached to the “body”.
There are no cracks, breaks, nor chips to the head – just a few shallow as-made pin points on the surface of her right cheek. No odors – smoke free environment!
This endearing piece is a very desirable item for the antique Christmas angel ornament or sewing tools collector.
Very scarce to find!
